The New South Wales Film and Television Office in association with Metro Screen ran a number of courses for people working or volunteering as cinema projectionists in regional NSW.
The demand for projectionist training has coincided with the expanding revival of cinema activity in regional NSW, especially in community operated cinemas. High quality training in all aspects of projection + film maintenance is essential to the ongoing operation of any cinema, keeping both audiences + film distributors happy + ensuring a continuation of film activity in regional NSW.
To date Metro Screen has run two courses. The first at the Gunnedah Civic Theatre. The second course was held at the Lilac Cinema in Goulburn. 24 participants from all over regional NSW successfully completed the course. We have had great feedback from both the trainer and the participants.
